Who we are

Noor is a Muslim prayer times app developed by Canopy. Contact: contact@bycanopy.app

What data we collect

Data you provide

We do not require you to create an account. Noor does not collect your name, email, or any personal identifier.

Location data

Noor requests access to your device's location (When In Use only) to automatically calculate accurate prayer times for your city. Your coordinates are:

  • Used locally on your device to call the Aladhan API (a public prayer times API)
  • Never stored on our servers — we have no servers
  • Never shared with third parties for advertising or tracking purposes

You can deny location access at any time in iOS Settings. The app falls back to a default city (Paris).

Prayer tracking data

Your prayer history (which prayers you marked as done) is stored locally on your device only, using Apple's Core Data framework. This data never leaves your device.

App settings

Your preferences (calculation method, notifications, etc.) are stored locally on your device only, using UserDefaults.

Third-party services

Aladhan API

We send your GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) to api.aladhan.com to retrieve prayer times. No personal identifier is sent. See Aladhan's privacy policy.

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous device identifier to manage your purchase status. It does not receive your name, email, or location. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Apple App Store / StoreKit

Subscription purchases are processed directly by Apple. We never see your payment information. See Apple's privacy policy.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not collect or store personal data on external servers
  • We do not sell your data to third parties
  • We do not use your data for advertising
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites
  • We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase, no Mixpanel, etc.)

Data retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling Noor. We retain no data on our end.

Children's privacy

Noor does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app contains no features targeting children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The updated version will always be available at the same URL. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
