Overview
Sumi ("the App") is developed by Thomas Blanc. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the App.
The short version: Sumi does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All your data stays on your device.
Data Storage
All information generated through your use of the App — including daily readings, zodiac sign preference, reading history, card collection progress, and notification settings — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Name or email address
- Phone number
- Location data
- Health or fitness data
- Financial information
- Browsing history
- Device identifiers for tracking
- Analytics or usage data
Third-Party Services
Sumi does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
The only network communication the App makes is with Apple's servers for the following purposes:
- Apple StoreKit: To process in-app subscription purchases. Purchase data is handled entirely by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Apple iCloud (optional): If you enable iCloud on your device, your reading data may sync across your Apple devices through your personal iCloud account.
In-App Purchases
Sumi offers auto-renewable subscription plans. All payment processing is handled by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or transaction details beyond what Apple provides to developers (anonymous transaction records).
Children's Privacy
Sumi does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The App does not require account creation and stores no personal data on external servers.
Photos
The App may request permission to save images to your photo library. This occurs only when you explicitly tap "Save to Photos" on a story card. The App uses add-only access (NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription) — it cannot read or access your existing photos.
Notifications
If you choose to enable morning reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. No notification data is sent to any server.
Data Sharing
Sumi does not share any data with third parties. There is no data to share — nothing leaves your device.
Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all App data at any time by deleting the App. No residual data exists on any external server.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
